Pedalo (the weirdest transport so far)

This afternoon I arrive by a very slow train in Trento, where I meet Giulia, a friend from SOAS. She lives next on the other side of Riva del Garda, the biggest lake in Italy, and we cross the lake by pedalo. We're crossing only the most northern tip, where the lake is at its narrowest, yet from the banks it was still overwhelming.

Then she drives me to her village of Spiazzo. She drives like a boy-racer, swearing at the boots of other cars if they dare separate her from the open road. It's the first time I've seen her since she went away for a year in Beijing and we exchange gossip from our friend groups.
